Thomas Coburn, MD
Thomas
has been with Jessamine Christian Healthcare from
the start in May 1999.
He enjoys working at
JCH because is a joy to practice medicine in a
community and a business that allows him to be a
Christian brother to his patients and co-workers.
Dr Coburn on what it
means to practice “Family Medicine with the Focus on
Christ”: Our service of healthcare to patients flows
from our love for Christ that is extended to our
patients and community. We understand true health
and healing comes from the “Great Physician” and He
is our primary resource.
Thomas was born in
Wilmore. He has returned to live in Jessamine County
since 1997. His wife Cathy and he have four
children; Jonathan, Catherine, Rebekah, and Michael.
Thomas volunteers at
Hospice of the Bluegrass as a Community Medical
Director. He volunteers at Nathaniel Mission and the
Jessamine County Board of Health. Dr Coburn also
works at the Jessamine County Detention Center as
their Medical Director.
Dr Coburn graduated
cum laude from Duke University in 1991. He received
his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of
Kentucky in 1995.
His specialty
training was in Family Medicine at the University Of
Kentucky Department Of Family Practice. He is Board
Certified in Family Medicine and serves as the
President of the Board of Directors for Jessamine
Christian Healthcare. |
Joshua
Huffman, MD
Dr Huffman started at
JCH in July of 2001.
Joshua believes that
for him being a doctor is more than just a job, it
is his ministry. Every day brings an opportunity to
impart physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual
healing to his patients.
Dr Huffman on what it
means to practice “Family Medicine with a Focus on
Christ”: “We want our clinic to operate according to
Biblical values. Instead of doing the easy thing or
the most profitable, we are committed to treating
our patients in a way that pleases God. If you do
unto the least of these, you do unto me.”
Joshua volunteers at
Nathaniel Mission and is a Medical Director for
Hospice. Dr Huffman also works as the Medical
Director of Wesley Village.
Dr Huffman is Board
Certified in Internal Medicine and ACLS. He
graduated from the University of Kentucky with
honors in 1994. He received his Doctorate of
Medicine in 1998 from the University of Kentucky
where his specialty training was in Internal
Medicine. He is Internal Medicine Board Certified.
He lives on a small
farm in Jessamine County with his wife Chrissy and
their four children; Meredith, Nathaniel, Daniel,
and Alexis. They home school and are active with
their church, Jessamine Christian Fellowship.
Chrissy is the religion writer for the Jessamine
Journal.
Dr Huffman’s special
interests include geriatrics and hospital medicine,
as well as preventative medicine. He speaks Spanish
fluently and each year he runs a medical mission
trip to Mexico.

Rache'l Ballard, RN, BSN
Registered
Nurse at JCH since 2002
Rachel has spent 10
years in the medical field, starting as certified
nursing assistant, then a Licensed Practical Nurse,
now a registered nurse with an associate degree in
Nursing. She is also studying to complete her
Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing.
Rache’l says that she
enjoys working with people who love Jesus and love
others as much as I do. It is an honor to work in an
exceptional medical facility whose primary focus is
on Jesus and providing holistic care.
She defines
practicing “Family Medicine with the focus on
Christ” as reaching out to the community, not just
physically, but spiritually and emotionally as well.
This is her heart’s desire when caring for her
patients.

| Jennifer Rebecca
Noah, RN, BSN
Medical
Assistant (part time) September 2006
Jennifer graduated in
2006 with a BSN from Eastern Kentucky University.
She also has a
bachelor’s degree in social work from Asbury
College.
Jennifer enjoys the
positive work environment and awesome co-workers
with Christ at the center at Jessamine Christian
Healthcare.
Jennifer’s parents
are missionaries in Brazil and she hopes to be a
medical missionary. She has been on various mission
trips to Ecuador, Mexico, Northern Ireland,
Honduras, and Eastern Kentucky. |
| Larry Williams,
Office Manager
Office
Manager at JCH since November 5, 2001.
Larry has worked in
management in some way or another since his time at
the University of Kentucky.
Larry appreciates
working with people committed to loving God and
loving people and figuring out how that translates
into giving good care to our patients. He says that
the JCH staff members are amazing to work with.
Larry states that
practicing “Family Medicine with the Focus on
Christ” means to him that you figure out how God
wants the JCH staff to minister to patients
clinically and spiritually. We realize that
sometimes it is necessary to address spiritual life
issues with a patient so that they can truly be made
whole.
Larry has been
married to Elizabeth for 19+ years and they have
four children; David, Sarah, Stephen, and Deborah.

| Tammy Conn, CMA
Medical
Assistant at JCH since October 2006.
Tammy has worked in
the medical field for 10 years.
She enjoys the
patient contact and Christian atmosphere at
Jessamine Christian Healthcare. Practicing “Family
Medicine with a Focus on Christ” means to Tammy
using medicine to help illnesses along with praying
to God for healing.
She is married with
two young girls. |
| Lori Collins, CMA
Lori
started at JCH as a Medical Assistant in October
2006.
She has worked in the
medical field since 1990.
On working at JCH,
Lori says “I believe working here has been a
positive influence on me. Great caring people.
Everyone works together. Taking care of the patients
is the number one priority. Very Christian people.”
Lori lives in
Jessamine County, is married, and has three children
and seven grandchildren.

| Kay Minix, CMA
Kay
has worked at JCH since February of 2007. She is
part of our front office team and is also a
certified medical assistant.
Kay lives in
Jessamine County, is married and has three
step-children and three step-grandchildren.
She enjoys working at
JCH because of the pleasant atmosphere and
professionalism. Kay says the staff has the best
interest of the patient at heart.

| Shelli Waldo
Shelli
started with JCH in July of 2006 and is the front
desk supervisor.
She has worked in the
medical field for over two years.
Shelli enjoys her
co-workers at JCH. She says they are “wonderful
people who love Jesus and will help in any way they
can.” She also enjoys meeting and serving patients.
Her view on
practicing “Family Medicine with a Focus on Christ”
is: Jesus Christ is the ultimate healer and He’s the
Truth that sets us free from sin. When Jesus Christ
is the center of the Doctor’s office it helps us
serve and encourage patients with wisdom and hope
for their future.
Shelli is happily
married and is enjoying living in Kentucky. She has
served several churches that reach out to different
communities along with serving on college campuses,
homeless shelters, and in other nations for Jesus
Christ.

| Luci Long
Luci
started at JCH in April of 2007 as part of the front
office team.
Luci says that the
atmosphere at JCH is very caring of staff as well as
patients. It is a wonderful place to work.
She says that
practicing “Family Medicine with a Focus on Christ”
means that JCH knows that a “Higher Power” is their
partner in the healing process. They care about the
whole person; emotional, spiritual, as well as
physical.
Luci is married and
has three children who are married. She has three
precious grandchildren.

| Rebecca Hughes
Rebecca
has worked as a part time Medical Assistant at JCH
since the summer of 2005.
She is graduating
with degree from the University of Kentucky College
Of Nursing and hopes to use her nursing degree in
some kind of mission work. She has worked in the
medical field for four years.
Rebecca on working at
JCH: “I love working with such awesome people, and
the town of Wilmore is nice.”
She says that to her
practicing “Family Medicine with the Focus on
Christ” means giving glory to Jesus Christ in
everything we do, and caring for patients as if we
were caring for Christ himself.
Rebecca lives at home
with her parents, two brothers, one sister, and a
goldfish. She has done volunteer work with the Hope
Center, Lexington Rescue Mission, Saint Joseph
Hospital, and Nathaniel Mission.

Medical
Assistant and office staff (part time) November 2004
Tammy has a BA from
the University of Pennsylvania and has worked in the
medical field since 2003.
Tammy says that
practicing “Family Medicine with the focus on
Christ” means that we acknowledge Christ’s work in
our lives and our dependence on Him for all of the
details. She shares that the people at Jessamine
Christian Healthcare are all great. |
